Moomoo vs Webull (2026): Fees, Options and Tools Compared
Moomoo vs Webull in 2026: both charge $0 commission on US stocks, ETFs and options. Moomoo margin is 6.8%, Webull 8.74% standard or 5.45% with Premium.

Short answer: moomoo is cheaper for a standard account that borrows, at 6.8% margin on US stocks against Webull's 8.74% standard rate. Webull is cheaper once you pay for Premium ($40 a year), which cuts its margin to 5.45% under $25,000, and it charges less to transfer the account out. Both charge $0 commission on US stocks, ETFs and options, and $0.50 per contract on index options. Fees verified on both brokers' pages, October 2026.
The comparison assumes a US resident who trades stocks, ETFs and some options, keeps some cash idle and may use margin. Commissions tie at zero, so the decision sits in five places: options pass-through fees, the margin rate, the cash yield, what it costs to move money or the account out, and which market data comes free.
Toolradar data: the investment apps ranking on Toolradar, the software directory we run, evaluated 9 apps as of October 2026. Webull on Toolradar is one of them; moomoo is not listed yet, so every moomoo figure here comes from moomoo's own pages.

Sources: moomoo pricing, moomoo's US fee schedule (updated 1 October 2026), Webull's fee schedule and Webull's margin page (rates as of 16 October 2026), all read on 21 October 2026.
One caveat sits under moomoo's zero: its fee table lists the stock platform fee as $0 during a promotion, so check it again before you fund a large account. The table shows why the usual "both are free" answer misleads. The commission line is zero on both, but the margin line differs by almost two points on a standard account, and the paid tier changes who wins.
Options: both pass regulators' fees through
Neither broker charges a commission or its own contract fee on standard US equity options. What you still pay are the fees exchanges and the Options Clearing Corporation charge brokers, which both firms pass on to you.
Moomoo prints its rates: $0.025 per contract in OCC fees, $0.0122 per contract in the Options Regulatory Fee and $0.0003 per contract in Consolidated Audit Trail fees. On 100 contracts that comes to $3.75 by our arithmetic. Moomoo adds that the ORF varies by exchange and the rate you pay appears on your trade confirmation.
Webull's fee schedule lists the same two charges, an Options Regulatory Fee and an OCC clearing fee, applied on buys and sells and withheld by its clearing firm, Apex. For an options trader the practical step is the same on both platforms: place a small order and read the confirmation, because these pass-through fees move without notice.
One Webull-specific charge applies to big tickets: orders of 500 contracts or more routed to its Held route pay $0.10 per contract.
Index options cost the same on both: $0.50 per contract. Moomoo adds OCC, ORF and exchange proprietary fees on top, and Webull passes proprietary index option fees through per contract. Webull Premium also lists an index options commission discount by volume, which matters only if you trade index options every month. For a wider field, see best options trading platforms.
Margin: the biggest gap between them
Moomoo's fee schedule charges 6.8% a year on long margin for US stocks, one rate whatever the balance. Webull charges 8.74% at every balance on a standard account. Webull Premium drops that to 5.45% on balances under $25,000 and 5.25% from $25,000 to $99,999.99, falling to 4.15% at the top balance tier. Both brokers require $2,000 in the account to trade on margin.
Here is our arithmetic for a full year at a constant balance, before daily accrual effects:
| Margin balance held for a year | Moomoo at 6.8% | Webull standard at 8.74% | Webull Premium at 5.45%, annual fee included |
|---|---|---|---|
| $5,000 | $340 | $437 | $312.50 |
| $20,000 | $1,360 | $1,748 | $1,130 |
Premium pays for itself against moomoo once your average margin balance passes about $2,963, which is the annual Premium fee divided by the 1.35-point rate gap. Below that, moomoo's standard rate is the cheaper loan; above it, Webull Premium wins. A Webull user who borrows and skips Premium pays the most of the three options at every size.
Cash: both yields come with a condition
Moomoo's cash sweep page advertises 3.6% APY on uninvested cash, but only for new and existing users who meet a qualifying deposit or transfer requirement, and it calls this a promo rate as of 18 September 2026. Swept cash goes to program banks and is eligible for FDIC insurance up to $2 million, according to the same page.
Webull's Premium page lists 3.60% APY on uninvested cash in individual and joint cash accounts for Premium subscribers. On $10,000 of idle cash, 3.6% is $360 a year before the Premium subscription, so Premium on its own covers its fee once idle cash passes about $1,111.
The two routes therefore cost different things. Moomoo asks for a qualifying deposit or transfer, while Webull asks for a subscription. If you already plan to move a large balance in, moomoo's condition costs nothing extra; if you would pay for Webull Premium anyway to cut your margin rate, the yield comes with it.
Moving money and the account out
Leaving costs $100 per outgoing ACATS transfer at moomoo and $75 per outgoing stock transfer at Webull. Both are one-off fees, so they matter only if you expect to switch brokers, and the receiving firm may add or reimburse its own fee.
Wires go the other way. An outgoing domestic wire costs $20 at moomoo and $25 at Webull, and international outgoing wires cost $25 at moomoo against $45 at Webull. Webull charges $8 per incoming domestic wire, and ACH transfers in and out are free there. If you move cash by wire every month, moomoo's lower fee adds up faster than the one-time transfer gap.
Tools: Level 2 data is the real difference
Both brokers offer paper trading, desktop and mobile platforms, and charting. The difference that costs money is market depth data.
Moomoo gives free Level 2 data to accounts with a 30-day average account value of at least $100, covering six order books including Nasdaq TotalView and NYSE ArcaBook, with other conditions on its Level 2 page. Webull bundles Nasdaq TotalView Level 2 and real-time OPRA options data into Premium. A trader who wants order-book depth without a subscription gets it at moomoo with a small balance.
For deeper chart work on either app, the TradingView pricing guide covers the paid charting route, and best stock screeners covers research before the trade.
Is moomoo or Webull safer?
Both are SIPC members: moomoo's pages name Moomoo Financial Inc. as a SIPC and FINRA member, and Webull Financial LLC states SIPC coverage of up to $500,000, including a $250,000 cash sublimit, plus excess SIPC coverage. SIPC covers a broker failing with your assets, not losses when prices fall.
Moomoo's swept cash is eligible for FDIC coverage at program banks up to $2 million under its sweep program. Read each firm's disclosure on how that coverage is split across banks if you hold a large cash balance.

How we compared
Every figure comes from the two brokers' own pages, read on 21 October 2026: moomoo's pricing page, its US-resident fee schedule (updated 1 October 2026), its cash sweep and Level 2 pages, and Webull's fee schedule, margin page (rates as of 16 October 2026), Premium page and its help-center answer on the Premium fee. Each worked example is our arithmetic on those rates at a constant balance for a full year; each break-even is the fee divided by the rate gap. We did not open either account. Brokers change rates and promotions without notice, so recheck both fee pages before you trade.
