BILL Pricing 2026: Per-User Plans and Every Transaction Fee
BILL costs $49, $65 or $89 per user a month in 2026, plus $0.59 per ACH payment and $1.99 per check. Every fee, a costed AP team and Melio compared.

BILL (formerly Bill.com) costs $49 per user a month on Essentials, $65 on Team and $89 on Corporate, with Enterprise on custom pricing, read on BILL's pricing page on 21 October 2026. On top of the subscription, each ACH payment you send costs $0.59 and each check BILL mails costs $1.99, so a busy payables team pays for volume as well as seats. BILL Spend & Expense, the card and expense product, is free.
Finpresso data: of the 191 payment processing tools we track on Toolradar, the software directory Dupple runs, BILL is listed as an alternative to 22, joint 18th as of October 2026, against a peer median of 3. Buyers cross-shop it widely, which is why the per-user and per-payment structure below is worth modelling before you sign.
BILL is accounts payable and receivable software: it captures vendor bills, routes them for approval, pays them by ACH, check, card or wire, and syncs the result to your ledger. The price question is really two questions, how many people need a login and how many payments leave each month, and the sections below answer both.
BILL plans at a glance
| Plan | Price per user, as of Oct 2026 | Accounting sync | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | $49 a month | Manual CSV import and export | Bill capture, approval workflows, W-9 Agent, 6 standard user roles, invoicing |
| Team | $65 a month | Automatic 2-way sync with QuickBooks Online, Pro, Premier and Xero | Custom user roles, AI multi-line bill coding (Invoice Coding Agent), cash flow forecasting for QuickBooks Online users |
| Corporate | $89 a month | Same 2-way sync | Custom approval policies, procurement included, discounts for approver-only users, unlimited document storage |
| Enterprise | Custom pricing | Adds NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, Acumatica, QuickBooks Enterprise and Rillet | Single sign-on, multi-entity and multi-location accounting, dual control, premium phone support, 2 and 3-way PO matching |
BILL prices every plan per user per month and shows no annual billing option on its pricing page, so the figures above are the full monthly rate. Its FAQ says Essentials and Team bill every user as a standard user, while Corporate and Enterprise separate full users from cheaper approver-only seats. A free trial is offered in most cases.
Essentials is cheap until you count the sync
Essentials does not sync with your ledger automatically. It moves bills and payments to QuickBooks or Xero through CSV files, which means someone exports, imports and checks the match every week. For a founder paying a dozen vendors a month that is tolerable. For a bookkeeper closing the month, the manual step costs more in hours than the $16 a user that Team adds.
Team is the plan most small finance teams end up on. It adds automatic two-way sync with QuickBooks Online and Xero, custom user roles, and BILL's Invoice Coding Agent, which codes multi-line bills to the right accounts. If you run QuickBooks Online, Team also turns on BILL's cash flow forecasting. Our QuickBooks Online pricing guide and Xero pricing guide cover the ledger side of that pairing.
Corporate earns its premium on controls, not features
Corporate is for companies where several people approve spend but only a few enter bills. It adds custom approval policies, unlimited document storage and full procurement: purchase requests, purchase orders, tolerance rules, 2-way matching and unlimited purchase requesters at no charge. On Essentials and Team, procurement is an add-on, so get its price in writing if purchase orders are the reason you are looking.
Single sign-on and multi-entity accounting are where BILL's own page contradicts itself. The plan cards list both under Enterprise, as additions to everything in Corporate, and BILL's pricing FAQ says multi-entity organizations get custom pricing; the plan comparison table further down the same page ticks both for Corporate as well. If either is the reason you are upgrading, get BILL to confirm in writing that Corporate includes it before you sign.
The approver-only discount is the lever that changes the Corporate maths. A department head who only clicks approve does not need a full seat. BILL's page names the discount without a figure, so ask for the approver rate before you compare Corporate with Team, because a team with many approvers can pay less per head on the higher plan.
Enterprise is quote-only and exists mainly for the ERP sync: NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, Acumatica and QuickBooks Enterprise all sit there, along with dual control on payments. If your ledger is one of those, Enterprise is the only BILL plan with automatic sync; every lower plan falls back to CSV.
Every transaction fee BILL charges
The subscription is only part of the bill. These are the fees BILL prints for US payers and receivers, read on 21 October 2026.
| Payment or service | BILL fee |
|---|---|
| ACH payment to a vendor | $0.59 each |
| Check mailed by BILL | $1.99 each |
| Virtual card payment | Free |
| International payment in local currency (FX wire or local transfer) | Free, exchange rate applies |
| International USD wire | $19.99 (can be passed to the receiver) |
| Instant payment | 1.0% ($9.99 minimum, $100 maximum) |
| Pay Faster ACH (same or next day) | $11.99 |
| Pay Faster check | $24.99 overnight, $19.99 two-day, $14.99 three-day |
| Paying a bill with your credit or debit card | 2.9% |
| Void a check | $25.00 |
| Failed ACH from sender after the receiver is paid | $50.00 |
| 1099 e-filing to the IRS | $2.99 per form ($1.99 through the Accountant Console) |
| 1099 direct state filing | $1.49 per form |
| Customer pays you by ACH | Same fee as an outgoing ACH payment |
| Customer pays you by card | 2.9% |
| Instant transfer of received funds | 1.25%, $1 minimum |
| Mailed invoice | $1.99 |
Two lines deserve attention. Paying vendors with your own card costs 2.9%, so a $10,000 vendor bill put on a rewards card costs $290 in fees by our arithmetic, which most card rewards will not cover. Speed costs too: the Pay Faster ACH fee is about twenty times the standard ACH fee, so schedule payments early instead of paying to rush them.
On the receivables side, BILL charges the same 2.9% when a customer pays your invoice by card. Whether you absorb that or pass it on is a pricing decision for your own invoices, and our Square fees guide shows how other processors price card acceptance.
What a 3-person AP team pays: BILL vs Melio
To compare like with like, we priced one scenario on both vendors' monthly list prices: three users and 50 ACH vendor payments a month, no checks, no cards. The totals are our arithmetic on prices printed on BILL's pricing page and Melio's pricing page on 21 October 2026.
| Plan, monthly billing | Monthly subscription | ACH fees for 50 payments | Total per month | Total per year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BILL Essentials | $147 (3 users) | $29.50 | $176.50 | $2,118 |
| BILL Team | $195 (3 users) | $29.50 | $224.50 | $2,694 |
| BILL Corporate | $267 (3 users) | $29.50 | $296.50 | $3,558 |
| Melio Core | $45 ($25 plus 2 extra users at $10) | $15 (20 free, then 30 at $0.50) | $60 | $720 |
| Melio Boost | $75 ($55 plus 2 extra users at $10) | $0 (50 free) | $75 | $900 |
| Melio Unlimited | $80 (unlimited users) | $0 (unlimited free ACH) | $80 | $960 |
On this scenario, Melio Boost costs about a third of BILL Team for the same seats and payments. Melio sells tiered plans: Go is free for one user with 5 free ACH payments a month, then Core, Boost and Unlimited at the prices above, with 20% lower rates billed annually (Core $20, Boost $44, Unlimited $64, and $8 per extra user). Each paid Melio plan starts with 90 days free.
The gap narrows on features rather than price. BILL Team and above sync two ways with QuickBooks and Xero and code multi-line bills with AI, and BILL's Enterprise plan syncs with NetSuite and Sage Intacct. Melio Boost answers with QuickBooks Desktop sync and approval routing by vendor, amount or user, which covers most small teams that never touch an ERP. Our Melio review and BILL review cover each product in depth, and best accounts payable software for small business puts both against the wider field.
BILL Spend & Expense is free, with conditions
BILL Spend & Expense costs $0 per user a month. It includes corporate cards, budgets, expense tracking and access to credit lines from $1,000 to $5M, which BILL says are not guaranteed and depend on approval. Paying a vendor with a BILL Divvy virtual card is also free.
It is a good deal for a team that wants cards and budgets without another subscription, and it does not reduce the AP subscription: you still pay per user for Essentials, Team or Corporate if you also want bill pay. For the bank account those payments draw on, see business banking fees in 2026.
Pricing for accountants
Accounting firms buy BILL differently. The Accountant Console costs $49 a month, manages multiple clients and lets the firm resell AP and AR, and BILL advertises an extra 10% to 20% client subscription discount based on the number of clients onboarded. Firms also get the lower 1099 e-filing rate shown in the fee table above. If you are an in-house team, none of this applies, but it explains why your outside bookkeeper may already be set up on BILL.
Which BILL plan fits
Pick by your ledger first, then your approvers. If you run QuickBooks Online or Xero and more than a handful of bills a week, Team is the floor, because Essentials' manual sync costs hours every close. Move to Corporate when you need purchase orders, custom approval policies or many approve-only users. Plan on Enterprise if you need NetSuite, Sage Intacct or another ERP sync, and price it too if you need single sign-on or several entities, since BILL's plan cards place both on Enterprise.
If you pay mostly by ACH, have a small team and do not need BILL's ERP reach, cost out Melio first; on our scenario the difference is well over $1,000 a year. For international vendors, compare the $19.99 USD wire with free local-currency transfers, and see our Wise fees guide for another route. How we priced this
We read BILL's US pricing page, including its plan cards, comparison table, fee schedule and FAQ, and Melio's pricing page on 21 October 2026. Plan prices and fees are BILL's and Melio's own; the yearly and scenario totals are our arithmetic on those printed prices, using monthly billing for both vendors. We did not estimate any fee a vendor does not print. This page is general information, not personalized financial advice. Confirm fees, plan limits and contract terms with BILL before you subscribe.
