TL;DR

Revolut Business is worth it in 2026 for a US company that converts currency every month and pays suppliers abroad, because its plan fee buys an allowance of interbank-rate exchange that a free account charges for. Basic starts from $10 a month with $1,000 of interbank FX, Grow from $40 with $20,000, Scale from $140 with $80,000, and Enterprise is priced on request. Past the allowance, exchange costs 0.6%, or 1% outside market hours. A purely domestic business should skip it: Mercury and Relay start at $0. Choose Wise Business for occasional FX with no monthly fee, and Airwallex for flat-rate conversion at volume.

  • Updated: October 31, 2026
  • Best for: US companies converting currency monthly and paying suppliers or contractors abroad.
  • Price as of October 31, 2026: Basic from $10/mo; Grow from $40/mo; Scale from $140/mo; Enterprise custom; FX over allowance 0.6%.
  • A multi-currency business account whose plan fee buys interbank-rate exchange and free international transfers.
  • Entry plan: Basic, the cheapest US plan, with a monthly fee
  • Interbank FX allowance: $1,000 to $80,000 a month depending on plan
  • FX above allowance: 0.6% in market hours, 1% outside them
  • Team members: Unlimited on every plan

Pros

  • Interbank-rate exchange allowance from $1,000 on Basic to $80,000 a month on Scale.
  • Unlimited team members and the expenses tool at no per-person charge on every plan.
  • Bills, purchase orders, custom approvals and bulk payments to 1,000 recipients from Grow up.

Cons

  • No free plan in the US: even Basic carries a monthly fee, unlike Mercury or Relay.
  • Exchange outside market hours costs 1% on every plan, so weekend payments lose the allowance benefit.
  • Not a US bank; deposits sit with program bank Lead Bank rather than a multi-bank sweep.

Revolut Business sells a monthly subscription where most US business accounts sell nothing at all, and that is the whole buying question. A domestic checking account at Mercury or Relay costs nothing, so Revolut has to earn its fee on what happens when money crosses a border: the exchange rate, the international transfer and the card spent in another currency. This review prices each plan from Revolut's US plan page, read on October 18, 2026, and works out when the subscription pays for itself.

Finpresso data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, tracks 1,111 finance tools for its ranking updated October 15, 2026, and the median cheapest paid plan is $39 a month across the 299 that publish one. Revolut's entry plan sits well under that median and Scale sits far above it, so the right tier depends on your currency volume more than on your headcount. The finance ranking has the wider field.

What is Revolut Business?

Revolut Business is a multi-currency business account and spend platform from the fintech Revolut. In the US it is not a bank: the footer of its plan page says the business prepaid Visa and Mastercard cards are issued by Lead Bank, Member FDIC, and that Revolut Technologies Inc. is the technology provider and program manager. Revolut has a preliminary conditional approval from the OCC for a US national bank, covered in our Revolut charter news, but that bank is not open for deposits.

What you get on every plan is the ability to send and receive 25+ currencies, spending in 150+ currencies, physical and virtual corporate cards, an expenses tool at no per-person charge and unlimited team members. The plans differ in allowances, not in access: how much you can exchange at the interbank rate each month and how many transfers carry no fee.

How Revolut Business works

You apply online, Revolut verifies the business, and the plan fee is charged as soon as the account is fully operational, then on the same date each month or year. Allowances reset monthly on the activation date for monthly and annual plans alike, so an unused FX allowance does not roll over.

Inside the allowance, currency exchange happens at the interbank rate during market hours. Above it, Revolut adds 0.6%, and any exchange outside market hours carries 1%, which matters for a team that pays Asian suppliers on a US weekend. International transfers beyond the plan's free count cost $5 each, local transfers beyond it $0.20, and ATM withdrawals carry 2%.

Plans can be changed at any time. A downgrade starts at the next billing cycle, an upgrade can start immediately with unused days refunded, and a new plan bought in the last 14 days and unused can be switched down for a refund.

Revolut Business key features

Interbank FX allowanceEssential
Each plan includes a monthly amount you can exchange at the interbank rate: a small sum on Basic, $20,000 on Grow, $80,000 on Scale and a custom figure on Enterprise. It is the feature you are paying for, and the reason to size the plan to your monthly conversion volume.
Accounts and transfers in 25+ currenciesEssential
Local and global account details let you hold and receive foreign currency instead of converting at once. Free international transfers scale from none on Basic to 5 on Grow and 25 on Scale, with free transfers to other Revolut accounts on every plan.
Corporate cards
Up to 3 physical cards per team member and virtual cards on every plan, with limits, categories and merchant controls. Grow includes one metal card and Scale two; any other metal card costs $49.
Bills, purchase orders and approvals
From Grow up, Revolut pulls bills from your accounting software, matches them to purchase orders and routes them through custom approval rules, which Basic does not include.
Bulk transfers and business APIs
Grow and above can pay up to 1,000 recipients in one batch across currencies and use the business API to automate payments and card issuing, useful for marketplaces and contractor-heavy teams.
Accounting and HR integrations
Every plan syncs with accounting software and HR platforms, so new hires get cards and approvers automatically and transactions land in the ledger without exports.

Revolut Business pricing

Methodology: prices checked on October 18, 2026, in US dollars, on Revolut's US business plan page, along with its help articles on billing and plan refunds. Revolut prints each plan as a "from" price per month and bills monthly or annually. Basic includes 10 free local transfers and no free international ones; Grow 100 and 5; Scale 1,000 and 25. Monthly totals below add the plan's from price to Revolut's printed overage fees, assume exchange in market hours, and exclude card-acceptance fees.

Scenario 1, a small importer: $5,000 converted, 3 international and 20 local transfers a month. Basic costs $51 (fee, $24 of FX markup, $15 of transfer fees, $2 of local fees); Grow costs its flat fee with nothing on top. Grow is cheaper from the first month.

Scenario 2, an agency paying overseas contractors: $30,000 converted, 10 international and 150 local transfers. Basic costs $262, Grow $135 ($60 of FX markup and $35 of transfer fees) and Scale its flat fee. Grow still wins by a few dollars, and the $5 gap to Scale means a slightly busier month tips the balance to Scale.

Scenario 3, an ecommerce brand buying stock abroad: $100,000 converted, 30 international and 300 local transfers. Basic costs $812, Grow $685 and Scale $285 ($120 of FX markup on the $20,000 above its allowance and $25 for five extra transfers). At this volume Enterprise is worth a sales call.

Against the field: Mercury is $0 a month with Plus at $29.90 a month billed annually, but charges a 1% currency exchange fee on non-USD international wires, so scenario 2's $30,000 costs $300 in exchange fees there. Wise Business charges a one-time 31 USD setup fee and conversion from 0.23%, with no monthly plan. Airwallex converts major currencies at 0.5% above interbank and charges $15 to $25 per SWIFT transfer. Relay Starter is $0, Grow $30 a month and Scale $90 a month at a limited-time rate.

Revolut Business pros and cons

What we like

  • Interbank-rate exchange allowance from $1,000 on Basic to $80,000 a month on Scale.
  • Unlimited team members and the expenses tool at no per-person charge on every plan.
  • Bills, purchase orders, custom approvals and bulk payments to 1,000 recipients from Grow up.

What could be better

  • No free plan in the US: even Basic carries a monthly fee, unlike Mercury or Relay.
  • Exchange outside market hours costs 1% on every plan, so weekend payments lose the allowance benefit.
  • Not a US bank; deposits sit with program bank Lead Bank rather than a multi-bank sweep.

Who Revolut Business is for

Revolut Business fits a US company that converts between $5,000 and $100,000 a month and pays people or suppliers abroad: importers, agencies with overseas contractors, ecommerce brands buying stock in other currencies and remote teams spending on cards in several countries. For them the plan fee is smaller than the FX markup a free account would charge, and the bills and approvals on Grow replace a separate payables tool.

Skip it if your money stays in dollars. A domestic business pays a monthly fee for allowances it never touches, and Mercury or Relay cover checking, cards and bill pay for free. Skip it too if FDIC coverage through a sweep network matters more than FX, since Revolut's US funds sit with one program bank. Our best business bank accounts ranking and the business banking fees guide compare the domestic options.

The bottom line

Revolut Business earns its fee only when currency moves: for a US company that converts a few thousand dollars or more each month, Grow is the plan most buyers should start on, and Scale pays off once monthly conversion runs past about $30,000. Basic rarely makes sense, because a single month of modest FX and a few international payments costs more on Basic than Grow's flat fee.

Choose Wise Business if you convert now and then and want no subscription, Airwallex if your volume is large and you prefer a flat markup, and Mercury if your money stays in dollars. Our Wise vs Revolut comparison and Wise fees guide go deeper on the FX side, and non-US founders should read the non-resident account guide.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Revolut Business cost in 2026?

In the US, Revolut Business Basic starts from $10 a month, Grow from $40, Scale from $140, and Enterprise is priced on request, as printed on Revolut's US plan page on October 18, 2026. Plans are billed monthly or annually, and fees for exchange above the allowance, extra transfers and ATM withdrawals come on top.

Is there a free Revolut Business plan in the US?

No. Every US plan, including Basic, carries a monthly fee. A business that wants a $0 account with no multi-currency needs should look at Mercury or Relay, both of which have free plans.

What are Revolut Business FX fees?

Each plan includes a monthly allowance of exchange at the interbank rate: $1,000 on Basic, $20,000 on Grow and $80,000 on Scale. Above it Revolut charges 0.6%, and any exchange outside market hours costs 1%. Allowances reset monthly and do not roll over.

Is Revolut Business FDIC insured?

Revolut is not a US bank. Its US business cards are issued by Lead Bank, Member FDIC, which provides the banking services, with Revolut Technologies Inc. as program manager. Revolut holds a preliminary conditional OCC approval for a US national bank that is not yet open.

Revolut Business or Wise Business?

Revolut if you convert a predictable amount every month, because the plan allowance makes that exchange interbank-rate. Wise if you convert occasionally, since it has a one-time 31 USD setup fee, no monthly plan and conversion from 0.23% per transfer.
